Alternative

A Playwright alternative for the discoverability problem

Playwright is the right tool for testing whether code behaves correctly given a known sequence of actions. It is open source, free to run, and battle-tested in production. Glia Quest is not trying to replace it. Glia Quest answers a question Playwright cannot: starting from your homepage, can a user reach this feature at all.

When Playwright is right

If your team is comfortable maintaining a test suite, Playwright is excellent. You write scripts that exercise specific flows (checkout, signup, authentication, payment) and the suite runs in CI. When a deploy breaks the flow, the test fails before the change reaches users. The cost is engineer time: writing the tests, fixing them when the UI changes, and triaging false positives.

When you need something else

Playwright cannot tell you whether a feature is discoverable. If your support team is forwarding tickets asking for capabilities that already exist, Playwright will not help. The tests run paths you defined; they do not explore. Glia Quest does the opposite: it explores paths you did not define, and reports back which features it could and could not reach. The output is a Reachability Score that maps directly to user experience, not code coverage.

Use both

Most teams that adopt Glia Quest already use Playwright or another regression-testing tool, and keep using it. The two answer different questions. Playwright keeps the flows you care about from breaking. Glia Quest tells you when you've shipped something nobody can find. They cost less than $10 per audit and run in minutes; there's no reason to choose between them.

How Glia Quest compares

Glia Quest uses your sitemap as ground truth to measure the gap between what your application declares and what your users can actually reach. It also produces a Quality Rating (A–F) on every scan, checking each reachable page for missing titles, exposed credentials, broken navigation components, and cross-locale rendering issues. No additional cost.
